My doctoral work focuses on GI disorders, the gut-brain relationship, and behavioral approaches to IBS care.
My master’s provided the professional education and clinical training that prepared me to practice in marriage and family therapy. It is the foundation of my work as a psychotherapist: understanding a person’s concerns in context, developing a clinical understanding of their needs, and using that understanding to guide treatment.
Clinical experience includes 1,500 hours at JFKU Community Counseling Center, 2003–2005.
My broader background spans more than two decades across psychotherapy, coaching, group facilitation, and public speaking.
Under the direction of my dissertation chair and committee, I’m examining barriers to behavioral therapies in IBS care through a systematic review and a proposed implementation protocol.

Come as you are.
You may have spent a long time looking for answers, trying different approaches, and explaining how much your symptoms affect you. It can be exhausting to keep asking for help when you still don’t feel understood. There’s room here to share what you’ve experienced, what you’ve tried, and what you wish someone understood.
I’ll listen closely and ask questions. Together, we gather the clinical information that guides your care: your symptom history, patterns you’ve noticed, what has or hasn’t helped, and what matters most to you. We use that shared understanding to decide where to focus, then review what changes as we work together.
There may be laughter, tears, or a quiet moment while you find your words. You don’t need to share everything at once. Getting to know each other takes time, and we can talk about what would help you feel more comfortable.
